On Saturday, February 8 the Ayiti Community Trust hosted its inaugural Gala Kanaval with visitors coming from Haiti, Boston, Montreal, New York, Louisiana, Colorado, Washington DC, and Atlanta. The spectacular evening, filled with Miami's greatest community influencers, was hosted at the illustrious Fontainebleau Miami Beach. The festivities were kicked off with a cocktail hour which included dancing tunes from twoubadour music group, Awoze, and segued into palatable cocktails and a silent auction featuring some of the finest art from distinct local and international artists. The night was highlighted by many honorable guests, all of whom are committed to sharing Ayiti's story and legacy with the world. A.C.T. was proud to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tabou Combo, Ayiti's super band, as well as recognize novelist, Edwidge Danticat and young entrepreneur, Marc Alain Bouccicault.
The ambiance imbued the very essence of Ayiti, from the food and entertainment to the live auction that included luxury vacation packages to Ayiti. Se la pou w te la (You had to be there)!
